4 people were arrested in connection with investment and online love scam involving NT$23 million

According to a report by Radio Television Hong Kong, the police recently successfully arrested four suspects suspected of participating in investment fraud and online love scams, involving as much as NT$23 million. These criminals use rewards of 1,000 to 1,500 yuan to lure people who are greedy for quick money or have financial difficulties and collect their puppet accounts.

The police appeal to the public to be more vigilant and not to rent or sell bank accounts easily to prevent the accounts from being manipulated by criminals and used for illegal activities. This kind of behavior not only damages personal property safety, but may also violate the law and bring irreparable consequences to yourself.

    Investment fraud cases

According to police investigations, this criminal group usually uses high returns as bait to attract investors to invest large sums of money. However, these so-called investment projects do not exist, and investors can only end up being defrauded of their money.

    Online romance scam

In addition to investment fraud, this group is also involved in online romance fraud. They pretend to be fake identities on heterosexual dating websites, develop relationships with their victims, and ultimately defraud them of money.

    police appeal

The police once again appealed to the public to remain vigilant and not to trust strangers' investment advice or online romance. If you see something suspicious, report it to the police immediately to avoid becoming the next victim of criminals.
