Hong Kong will hold the Economic Summit Forum 2023 on Monday (18th). The second discussion topic is "New Thoughts on National Strength: Enlightenments of the Chinese Communist Party's Governance Experience on Hong Kong Reform" by Fu Hualing, Dean of the School of Law, University of Hong Kong.
At the forum, Dean Fu Hualing of the Faculty of Law of the University of Hong Kong mentioned that Hong Kong students have become silent, while mainland students are willing to criticize. This phenomenon has attracted people's attention and also reflects the differences between students from different backgrounds.
According to Fu Hualing's observation, Hong Kong students are more likely to remain silent when facing political issues, while mainland students are more courageous to express their opinions. This difference in views may stem from educational backgrounds and values in different regions.
Another topic discussed at the forum was the implications of the CCP’s governance experience for Hong Kong’s reform. This topic aroused the interest of the participants, who hoped to learn from the CCP’s successful experience and provide new ideas for Hong Kong’s future development.
In the context of increasingly fierce global economic competition, national strength has become an important issue. Participants hope to explore how to enhance Hong Kong's national strength and inject new impetus into Hong Kong's economic development through research on the CCP's governance experience.
