Between the end of November 2023 and the end of February 2024, the police system issued nearly 400,000 warnings to remind citizens to pay attention to guard against scams. The importance of these warnings is self-evident, as fraud is becoming increasingly rampant in Hong Kong and requires everyone's vigilance and cooperation.
In this ongoing campaign against fraud, a total of 287 bank staff were commended for their efforts and professional ethics that prevented many fraud cases from occurring. These bank employees not only demonstrate professional knowledge and skills, but also demonstrate a sense of responsibility to customers and society.
On behalf of the police, Siu Chak-yi expressed his gratitude to the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, the Hong Kong Association of Banks and the entire banking industry. He emphasized the support and contribution of these institutions and individuals in combating fraud, and looked forward to continuing to cooperate with the banking industry in the future to work together for social security.
Bank employees play a vital role in stopping scams. They not only need to have professional knowledge and skills, but also need to maintain a high degree of alertness and responsibility. The 287 bank staff honored with these commendations demonstrate their value and importance.
Combating fraud is not only the responsibility of the police or the banking industry, but also requires the cooperation of the entire society. Only when the government, businesses and citizens work together can we effectively prevent and combat various fraud cases.
Although this recognition ceremony is an affirmation of past efforts, we cannot rest on our laurels. Combating fraud is a long-term battle that requires continuous efforts and cooperation to ensure the safety of society.
