    The first meeting of the China-EU Financial Working Group was held in Beijing. This meeting is an important step in strengthening financial cooperation between China and the EU. The meeting was co-chaired by Xuan Changneng, Vice President of the Bank of China, and John Berrigan, Director General of the European Commission’s Financial Stability, Financial Services and Capital Markets Union.

    At the meeting, representatives from the State Administration of Financial Supervision, the China Securities Regulatory Commission, the State Administration of Foreign Exchange, the European Central Bank and other institutions gathered together to conduct in-depth discussions on financial supervision, financial services and capital market cooperation. The two sides reached consensus on how to strengthen regulatory cooperation, promote financial innovation, expand market opening and other issues.
